Special Procedures Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Anchorage, AK
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent | 12-Hour Shifts | Weekend & Holiday Call Required
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Special Procedures RN to join a dedicated team in Anchorage, AK. In this role, you will assist with invasive cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures. You will be responsible for testing and therapeutics in the procedure area, maintaining patient safety, and delivering high-quality care across a variety of complex cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with procedures including cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, EP device & ablation therapies, interventional radiology, neuro diagnostics/interventions, endovascular procedures, and structural heart cases (TAVR, LAAC).
- Guide patients through all aspects of care: transport, site preparation, sterile procedure setup, patient monitoring, and hemostasis following catheter/sheath removal.
- Manage emergent cases and execute quick, sound clinical judgment under pressure.
- Administer and mix sedation medications while circulating and monitoring cases.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant patient documentation and test preparation for physician interpretation.
- Utilize effective hand-off communication processes (SBAR) with interdisciplinary team members.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in Alaska (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) preferred.
- Experience:
- 2 to 3 years of Cath Lab / Special Procedures experience OR 5 years of high-acuity critical care experience (ICU/CCU).
- Demonstrated experience circulating, monitoring, and administering/mixing sedation drips.
- Certifications:
- BLS / BCLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- ACLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- On-Call Requirement: Must reside within a 30-minute response time window for call shifts (approx. 8–10 call days per 4-week schedule).
- Compensation & Benefits Highlights
- Shift Differentials: Evening ($2.75/hr) | Night ($4.65/hr) | Weekend ($2.50/hr) | On-Call ($4.50/hr)
- Incentives: Up to $25,000 Sign-On Bonus | Relocation assistance available on a case-by-case basis | Certification pay incentives (+$2.00/hr for qualifying advanced RN certifications).
